Chongqing Norsen and Qingling Motors Debut at Bangkok Exhibition to Advance Localization of New-Energy Commercial Vehicles
From August 25 to 30, 2026, the BITEC International Exhibition kicked off grandly in Bangkok, Thailand. Chongqing Norsen co-exhibited with Qingling Motors, unveiling the flagship Qingling EQ-2 new-energy light truck. The offering is tailored to meet market demands across Southeast Asia, marking steady progress in the overseas roll-out of new-energy commercial vehicles.

To maximise exhibition outcomes, the company conducted dedicated research on Thailand’s commercial vehicle market in advance. It systematically analysed the local industrial structure, import access regulations, new-energy supporting infrastructure and end-user vehicle requirements. Targeted customer invitations were issued through multiple channels to lay a solid foundation for on-site business negotiations.
Over the exhibition period, the booth welcomed more than 80 visitors, with 10 to 20 negotiation sessions held each day. Participants included local distributors, logistics fleets, cold-chain enterprises, construction contractors, special-vehicle retrofit firms and end customers. In-depth discussions confirmed that Thailand’s commercial vehicle market is still dominated by fuel-powered models. The new-energy light truck segment remains in its early growth phase with overall market caution. Buyers prioritise core indicators including load capacity, driving range, speed, vehicle dimensions, right-hand-drive certification, after-sales support and channel partnership policies. This on-site event fully validated the product strengths of the Qingling EQ-2 for the Thai market. It also highlighted that a robust local after-sales network, spare-parts supply chain, channel footprint and brand development form the cornerstone for new-energy vehicle deployment in Southeast Asia.
This exhibition marked Qingling New Energy’s maiden appearance in Thailand. The highcalibre product drew widespread attention. Distinguished guests including former Thai Deputy Prime Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong and representatives from the Thai Chinese Chamber of Commerce visited the booth to learn about vehicle performance and the brand’s overseas expansion roadmap.
Leveraging the exhibition platform, the company secured connections with four to five high-quality local distributors. These partners have expressed strong interest in acting as authorised dealers and pursuing local assembly for Qingling’s new-energy vehicles. Initial consensus has been reached among all parties. Reciprocal site visits will follow to refine new-energy vehicle certification requirements, local incentive policies and implementation terms. This will accelerate the launch and promotion of Qingling new-energy vehicles in Thailand and drive the upgrade of local green transport systems.

The Bangkok show served not only as an overseas showcase for Qingling’s competitive new-energy products but also as a key milestone for Chongqing Norsen to engage end users, connect industry resources and strengthen its market presence across Southeast Asia.
Moving forward, Chongqing Norsen will keep leveraging its core strengths in overseas market development, cross-border operation and localised services. It will deepen strategic cooperation with Qingling Motors to further tap into the Southeast Asian new-energy commercial vehicle sector. With professional, efficient overseas support services, the partnership will enable Chinese commercial-vehicle brands to achieve high-quality global expansion.
